Ambient Experience Patient In-Bore

MRI examination support tool

Philips

Up to nearly 40% of patients experience medium to high levels of anxiety during MRI examinations, mainly due to the narrowness of the bore and associated movement restrictions. Anxiety can reduce diagnostic accuracy, result in unwillingness to undergo future exams. The Ambient Experience Patient In-Bore solution offers an immersive viewing experience for patients while moving into the scanner (highest anxiety moment) and during the exam, helping patients relax and remain still. Audio visual content is displayed on the back wall (seen via a mirror on the head coil) while patients listen to music / sound through headphones.
