Rescue equipment

Fires in high-rise buildings often result in heavy casualties as trapped people jump from the building to escape rapidly spreading fumes and flames. Traditional aerial ladder vehicles have a low rescue efficiency because they cannot reach and reach and rescue people quickly enough. This vehicle concept represents a major improvement on existing equipment. The telescopic arm is combined with a slide mechanism, allowing a trapped person to escape in just two seconds. The maximum working height is 130 meters, making it suitable for high-rise buildings of up to 40 floors.

JURY STATEMENT

It is a wonderful yet simple idea to use a telescopic arm as a slide. This is an excellent example of the role of design in constantly improving existing products and infrastructure.
