ANDY
NICU Portable Ventilator
One of the main risk factors in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) concerns lung ventilation and its use during the transportation of critically ill newborns. The involvement of medical staff with physical and digital interfaces of medical ventilation allowed the identification of critical issues during the entire workflow. Andy supports doctors and nurses by simplifying and reducing assembly time and improving organization during transportation. The ventilator can either be used in the NICU or mounted on a transport incubator, making care operations more efficient and flexible.
This design concept for this portable ventilator is based on a thorough analysis of usability leading to an increase in efficiency and safety. The design language is cohesive and aesthetic.
