APT: ACCESSIBLE PREGNANCY TEST

Pregnancy test kit

APT is a haptic pregnancy test designed for people with visual impairment. It is the first pregnancy test that can be used without sighted assistance. The designers set out to create an accessible solution that lets the user know their results autonomously, thus protecting their privacy. APT is used like any pregnancy test, but the results are translated into vibrations, which can be accessed multiple times by pressing a button on the device.

JURY STATEMENT

This design idea aims to empower visually impaired people by increasing their self-reliance and self-confidence. In terms of execution, there is some room for improvement which may be addressed by feasibility testing.
