AQ Group Head Office Building

Wooden and Aseismic Building

At night, the light from inside the building shines through the lattice and gently illuminates the city like a paper lantern. This eight-story pure wooden building was constructed by combining the "Kigumi fitting joint" technique with highly accurate pre-cut technology. "Kigumi fitting joint" is a technique in which precisely notched pieces of timber are fitted together and has been passed down from Japanese shrines and temples The braided lattice bearing walls that make up the impressive façade allow viewers to directly feel the timber framing technique, giving the space a strength and delicacy of the raw rood.
