Large bore multislice CT scanner

Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation

The goal of this design was to achieve a device with improved comfort for both the operator (i.e., the doctor or technician) and the patient. For the operator, proximity and ease of operation have been further improved, and for the patient the feeling of openness has been expanded greatly by widening the diameter of the dome opening. In addition, this model incorporates advances in the concept of utilizing comfortable rounded forms, utilizing a clear circular shape to reduce the feelings of intimidation and psychological discomfort caused by medical equipment. Implementing efforts including joint research and development with customers (hospitals and research institutions) and regular patient surveys made it possible to obtain swift feedback on the development of this product, ascertaining user needs appropriately.
