The Bund Deutscher Architekten (German Architects’ Association) in Baden-Württemberg has awarded the Hugo Häring prize since 1969. It celebrates exemplary new buildings in the region, with details of the winning constructions being published in a book. büro diffus introduced a multi-award-winning new design for volume 7 and was then chosen to produce the next one. For the cover, the designers created a deconstructivist collage of contemporary concrete architecture and an expanded metal structure – an artistic rendering of the three-dimensional nature of space in the two-dimensional medium of a book.
