Modular Educational Toy

AREALMS is both a toy and an educational tool, giving young children access to various AR experiences. The core idea is to allow the user to create a simulated world using game figures and plants, and the user can observe the growth of each 'plant' in the biome. The design uses biodegradable materials and is based on an open-source platform, allowing users to manufacture and expand it at home using a 3-D printer and readily available electronic components.

JURY STATEMENT

While the description of the gameplay is a little vague and the color and form language of AREALMS do not immediately reflect the game's theme of "biome," this is a polished and thoughtful game system with well-thought-out product, brand, packaging and instructional design.

WINNER STATEMENT

Winning the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD is one of the greatest achievements young designers can attain. It's a sign that we've done our work well, and at the same time, an opportunity to showcase it to the whole world.
