Auckland Art GalleryThe identity was built around the idea of conveying art through language and the concept of seeing art in everything. An algorithm was developed to communicate to new and existing audiences in different ways – through description, wit or philosophy. A brush stroke, a prickly subject, a universal truth. The algorithm was incorporated into two logomarks, one of which is the name. The other incorporates the words Art and Toi, the Maori word for art. This was developed into a pattern referencing Maori Tukutuku panels. The identity was implemented into signage, a launch campaign, print materials, online, uniforms and products.
