JURY STATEMENT

Good design moves - selected by Ronald Ihrig New technology needs new aesthetics. With its all-aluminum body, the Audi A2 was a milestone in its class and in automotive design: 150 kg lighter than its competitors, with lower consumption and hence fewer emissions and boasting optimal recycling through lower energy consumption when melting down the aluminum. Facts that speak for themselves, as does the straightforward design of this totally rational car. However, the Audi A2 wasn’t cheap and therefore didn’t sell as expected. But with a faithful fan base, it’s destined to become a future classic with cult status.
