Single-lever basin mixer for wash bowls

Hansgrohe AG

Ritual sculpture The products of the Axor Massaud collection embody the vision of the designer, to bring form back into our emotions while adding a new sensibility to our living area. Accordingly the design development of the single-lever mixer is based on the idea of the bathroom as a living landscape in which the natural and symbiotic relationship between man and water can be realised. Massaud regards the fitting as a “heavenly array” offering a precious gift of nature. Indeed, the mixer – a stemlike, slender corpus almost 400 mm wide that sprouts in a slight curve – is crowned by an asymmetrically placed, generous tray for all kinds of accessories. From here water pours in a wide stream into the basin. With its balanced blend of organic and sharp-edged forms, the mixer reclaims the simplicity and beauty of the natural world, giving it the grace of a de-technified sculpture.
