„balancity” – Deutscher Pavillon EXPO 2010

German pavilion, EXPO Shanghai

“balancity”, within the framework of the EXPO’s motto “Better City, Better Life.”, is devoted to the subject of “balance” of a city worth living in. This is expressed as balance between the separate construction elements, which hold each other in perfect equilibrium. Covered by a transparent textile skin they form exhibition spaces and landscapes. A journey shows ideas and solutions concerning urban challenges “Made in Germany”. In the emotional show with an interactive LED-sphere visitors literally get things moving. As a walk-through sculpture the German pavilion expresses the variety of life in the city for today and tomorrow.
