Baren Calendar

Calendar

"Memories fade, yet we hope to keep them." (Bareda and Barada means to fade and to hope in Korean.) This is why we started the Baren project and also what we want to achieve through it. Busy modern day life often makes people indifferent to what they should actually care for. The Baren project tries to remind people of past events that should not be forgotten. As a main part of the project, a Baren calendar contains 13 typography-based graphic posters symbolizing past events that happened in the respective months.

JURY STATEMENT

Great sense of craft applied here with creative use of typographic character styling. The contrast of texture and drama in the layout makes for an exciting piece of work.

WINNER STATEMENT

It took us a while to realize that we had been chosen as one of 100 iF STUDENT DESIGN AWARD 2016 winners. Now, we gladly remember the hardships during the project. We’re very honored to win this award and we are pleased to get the chance of letting more people know about the "Baren" project.
