Clubs and associations shape the social life in Switzerland. Whether for the exchange of experiences, for common activities or for reasons of friendship: associations offer meaning, convey values and give something to hold on to. When taking office, their presidents also become role models. For the third and last time, Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank presents associations in the Basel region in its annual report. This year, ten presidents have been painted in oil on canvas and columnist Max Küng portrayed the everyday heroes in his usual down-to-earth way.
