This is a brand new design for a life jacket for boat and ferry passengers. As people board, they will be asked to put on this life jacket which, in the event of an emergency, transforms into a personal lifeboat. A concept that would have been impossible a generation ago is now feasible thanks to the development of ultra-lightweight materials.
This is a smart and creative idea to address the problem that life jackets keep people afloat but do not keep them dry. The designer has followed a very novel approach, rethinking the concept of the life jacket to create an innovation that goes much further than its predecessor.
