Betonsilo
refurbished and repurposed industry building
harbour properties
The Betonsilo, part of Düsseldorf’s Plange Mühle Campus, embodies a blend of heritage and sustainable design, aligned with Christoph Ingenhoven's supergreen© principles. Built in 1929, the structure’s ten concrete cylinders, each 24 meters high, were preserved and adapted, avoiding demolition and reducing waste. Once a storage facility, it now hosts medical and office spaces, with large windows bringing in natural light. This adaptive reuse honors the Betonsilo’s industrial past while transforming it into a vibrant, eco-conscious hub that meets contemporary standards in both functionality and environmental responsibility.
