Sustainable mobility supporting Ukrainian refugees
One of the first project in Europe which helps Ukrainian refugees moving around in the city with sustainable and cheap transportation - bicycles. Around 600 refugees received used bicycles, that were repaired by volunteers. Logistic challange to coordinate the donation of the old bicycles, organize repairing workshops and then giving the bicycles to the many refugees
JURY STATEMENT
This project is a remarkable example of what authentic, community led volunteering is capable of achieving without a lot of resources. The human connections that comes with this project are just as valuable as the mobility it grants.
