Folding bike

riese und müller GmbH

The Birdy is a full-suspension, folding bike with excellent handling. The new model has been completely redesigned using the tried-and-tested basic principle of its predecessor but employing a new design language. The heart of the bike is the monocoque main frame. Its half-shells are deep-drawn from aluminium sheet and precision robot-welded. The deep frame section and the distinct shadow edges allude to car body design. All folding/unfolding locking mechanisms are designed for maximum user friendliness. The special feature of the Birdy is the dual function of its folding hinge plus swinging suspension arm, thus eliminating the need for hinges in the main frame. The simple folding process (folding time: 15 seconds), the compact folded shape and the light weight (from 10 kg) guarantee optimum use.
