BMW Group Design

This latest four-cylinder development from BMW boasts more than 160 horsepower. With the engine canted 55 degrees towards the front wheel, the unique Duolever front suspension and the aluminium bridge frame, the low centre of gravity translates into fantastic handling. These characteristics are underlined by the design that emphasises the tension between technical and organic forms. The look of the K 1200 R is distinctive, making no reference to its forerunners. Its design symbolises the absence of any precursors in BMW’s model range: it has no directly comparable competitors, and is something completely new. Yet this motorbike, with its technical and visual solutions, is clearly a BMW. The K 1200 R, thanks to its unmistakable character, represents a completely new personality in the world of motorcycling.
