Interactive exhibit

BMW AG

The BMW Mixed Reality exhibits are interactive and partly transparent touchscreen applications that were displayed at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show. They demonstrate and provide insights into technical innovations in varying BMW engines. 3-D animations and films were projected onto transparent surfaces in front of the engines. By alternating the transparency, views of the real engine behind the screen were given at different points, creating a mix of the virtual with the real. Visitors to the exhibit were thus given a demonstrative explanation of how the engines function – directly and interactively.
