Children in socially deprived areas are more likely to become victims of sexual abuse due to a lack of access to sex education. BODY HOPSCOTCH is a hopscotch mat patterned on the human body that is designed to raise children’s awareness of sexual abuse. The ‘no-go zone’ symbols on the product teach children in a playful and non-threatening way which parts of the body are inviolable. Drawing on the global popularity of hopscotch, the design combines sex education with this traditional game to make children more aware of how to protect themselves from sexual exploitation.

This concept has the potential to have a great impact at a very low cost. This is a great example of how effective design aims for simplicity.
