The folding carton for the quality spirit “Bombay Sapphire” is probably the world’s first packaging with printed, actively illuminated surfaces which can be bought off the shelf – implemented with the protected technology “HiLight – printed electronics”. The illuminated animation on the front of the packaging is triggered by an innovative and intuitive mechanism as soon as the packaging is held in the hand. The illuminated scene is set in five consecutive stages from bottom to top. This packaging defines new standards for the presentation of a brand at the POS with a degree of attention which has never been achieved before.

This illuminating box presented an interesting use of new technology. It could fit well in a bar or at home. It is playful and nicely detailed with a strong and simple character.
