Borderlands can also be translated as land that belongs to no one. They are often considered spaces that can be freely explored. This case is a retired educator's idea of a space for post-retirement life combined with humanistic exchanges during her travels to Southeast Asia, and reflecting the perspective of interacting with her five cats. The space is semi-open, with an open and flexible use of space and floor-to-ceiling furniture. The cats' perspective runs through the entire space, just as the five cats lived with people on the island in the Southeast.
