Staging of urban space
On the center strip of Potsdamer Straße a previously wasteland in the touristic area an accessible, interactive memorial is being constructed to honor outstanding cinema personalities. The design is based on the situation of a film premiere, the moment at which film creators present their work to the public. The four key elements are translated to urban space: red asphalt carpet, brass stars representing the personages, floodlights and cameras pointing at the stars. Through the viewer of the abstracted cameras visitors see the relevant actor standing holographic on his or her brass star and can get their picture taken with the actor.
