Bring me HOME!
Children in loving families
In Cambodia 43,810 orphans under age eighteen are living outside of family care. Children In Families is addressing this by providing children and families at risk of separation with support to keep families intact and helping children already separated to be reintegrated with their families or placed into well-equipped foster families. CIF helps families with domestic adoption and also includes children with disabilities in family-based care through special services. CIF has supported 845 children in 498 families. Through this support, vulnerable children have been able to grow up in safe and loving families rather than institutional care.
This project gives abandoned children a second opportunity to experience love by growing up in a foster family. At the same time, the foster family gets educated about proper medication and taking care of babies with disabilities, making sure they grow up safely and healthy. Bring me home is a lighthouse by showing high moral-ethical standards.
WINNER STATEMENTWe at Children In Families are excited to hear that we won this prize. What made us more exciting is that we are recognized for what we are doing to serve vulnerable children and families in Cambodia. This prize will be wisely used towards supporting children and families so family separation can be prevented before it happens, and abandoned children can find a place called home again. We believe that this platform will continue to advocate for us and make our voice more heard so all children can grow up in safe and loving families.
