Buan Salt Factory, located in the old city center near the local permanent market, used traditional methods to produce refined salt. This market played a significant role in Buan, where the fisheries industry thrived. However, it fell into disrepair after its operations were halted in 2009. The Buan Art Factory now stands on the site of the old salt factory. It occupies a unique lot, set deep within the area with a narrow entrance. Designed as an urban regeneration facility for the local residents traveling to and from the market, the building features a long metal facade that is easily recognizable from the permanent market.
