Building Within Existing Fabric: Row House Zurich

Renovation, Transformation

This row house from 1890 has been renovated to create a modern living comfort while preserving its historical character. The building structure has been reinforced, both the foundation and the timber beam ceilings have been reinforced. A new staircase with a light and open construction connects all floors, which have been reorganized to create spacious living areas and a direct connection between indoors and outdoors. The bathrooms were integrated into the existing structure to meet new comfort demands. A bright color palette and natural materials bring a contemporary atmosphere while keeping or reinterpreted historical details.

iF Gold Statement

This interior design breathes new life into an old body. This renovation honors historical character while creating a joyful, modern family home. Sustainable strategies are seamlessly integrated—extending the building’s future with elegance and care. This proves that you don’t have to sacrifice the present to conserve the past.
