C 116 Modern Cubus

Upright piano

Schimmel Pianos

The C 116 Modern Cubus features with its pure and simple shape the first contemporary piano design that is not an abandonment of the traditional console style. It develops the mission “less is more” into balance by using the uninterrupted vertical lined legs to hold the piano in a very light but yet solid way. This vertical lined leg design means that the leg runs vertically to the floor without the distraction of a castor. It was invented in the Bauhaus-school (but later forgotten) and supports the intentionally accentuated vertical lines of the design, setting an innovative but unobtrusive tone in this beautifully reduced design.
