C-Bot

climbing robot

C-Bot is a climbing robot used for building diagnosis, in order to analyze the building fabric and detect inner damages with ultrasonic sensors. An innovative bionic nano material imitates the gecko's foot sole structure and guarantees a secure hold on materials like glass, concrete or metals. The complex leg architecture, with integrated active and passive joints, qualifies the C-Bot to navigate any kind of edge or spherical surface - also vertical walls. The C-Bot project is the result of a collaboration with the Max-Planck-Institut.
