Product Service System Design and Circular Economy

Circulr is a product-service system that integrates physical and digital solutions to build self-sufficient, waste-free cities. It tackles overconsumption and inefficient waste management by enabling residents to exchange, repair, and recycle items through Circulr Smart Stores and Neighborhood Cabinets, reducing landfill waste and supporting local repair businesses. Users benefit from affordable services, sustainable consumption incentives, and community-driven circularity. Unlike conventional recycling systems, Circulr preserves craftsmanship and optimizes resource use, making cities more efficient and environmentally responsible.

JURY STATEMENT

This is a systemic solution for upcycling and repairing second-hand products that brings together buyers, consumers, and those with the skills to carry out repairs. The app is integrated into easy-to-use self-service lockers, making it reliable and cost-efficient. This service design has great potential for further integration into public spaces.

WINNER STATEMENT

It’s a great honor to be a winner of the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2025. I’m grateful and proud to have designed a product-service system that addresses global challenges and demonstrates how designers can make a meaningful contribution to sustainability through user-centered thinking.
