Codo
Panel and cable box
School of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University
This is a charging and storage box that utilizes the movement of a small ball to visualize electricity consumption in order to remind people to save energy. After consuming 10 kilowatt-hours of electricity, the small ball drops from the magnetic levitation track on the box and emits a sound. Therefore, users who are reminded can decide whether to continue charging or not. Codo cleverly transforms abstract electricity consumption into specific auditory, visual, and tactile feedback, placing the often overlooked energy consumption within the realm of human perception, thus promoting sustainable development in behavioral terms.
