ContiAdapt
Tire
At the IAA 2017 international car show Continental introduced a new technology concept called ContiAdapt. this involves electrically conductive rubber compounds and sensors continuously monitoring tread depth, temperature and road surface. ContiAdapt adjusts pressure and rim width based on sensor information and can thus modify the size of the contact patch, a decisive factor for safety and comfort. The tire design features three tread zones for wet, slippery or dry surfaces activated by tire pressure and rim width.
