Architecture

This is a sauna located in Yamanakako Village, Yamanashi Prefecture. We aimed to integrate the architecture into the local landscape, connecting it with the region's historical context while adhering to the exterior restrictions of Natural Parks Law. With a focus on Mount Fuji and cap clouds, we designed a roof floating above a mountain-like structure, creating two spaces with contrasting features of concentration and liberation. Visitors can concentrate inwardly to calm their minds on the ground floor, and experience mental liberation while facing the beautiful natural landscape on the first floor.
