Poster, exhibition, book

The starting point of my thoughts was the word “DENKMUSTER” (patterns of thought) and the question of how to make patterns of thought visible. Although we are seldom aware of our own thought patterns they influence our life considerably. To show how much they shape our thinking I chose furrowed brows as a visual analogy. Furrowed brows are a naturally caused pattern of thinking and may be caused by several different paradigms, for example sadness, sorrow, confusion or curiosity. About 20 photographs of furrowed brows of different people are the base material for the real patterns I developed. The skin-coloured patterns show each pore and pimple. The patterns are as different and individual as the people whose furrowed brows I photographed.
