DNA Sequence Analysis Software

This project includes the design of software for medical application in the field of research and diagnostics in molecular biology, based on a new technology and method. 21st century medicine is currently strongly influenced by the developments in molecular biology. By analyzing the DNA, the basic modules of the human body, it is possible to make more accurate predictions regarding diseases, their development, or regarding the success of organ transplantation. This software was developed with the help of and in connection with a research project and therefore represents a combination of applied science, research and the discipline of design.

JURY STATEMENT

Handling complex data is of increasing importance for many industries as well as for the average user. This project tackles that challenge. It guides the user through complex types of large data amounts and brings the viewer to a place where he can make his own decisions. Based on the existing project documentation, it is hardly possible to convey to an in-depth understanding of the subject. But what remains is a solid and carefully elaborated interface design, aligning subject-related and visual aspects on a very high level.

WINNER STATEMENT

It is nice to see that this complex and specific solution has received recognition. I am confident that working with highly specialized scientific topics will be an interesting opportunity for designers in the future and that this challenge will lead to new knowledge. Once again, I would like to thank all participants.
