DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2024 COMMITTEE
DESIGNTIDE TOKYO is a design event composed of exhibitions and markets that explore and share new “TIDE” in product design and beyond. Through design, it creates a three-dimensional experience of energy and emotion that cannot be felt through flat digital information. Held from 2005 to 2012, it transmitted design from Tokyo to the world. Each year, about 50 participants—including invited and selected designers—presented works that prioritized creativity over commercial value. In 2024, DESIGNTIDE TOKYO was revived with a new logo and renewed vision, and we were responsible for the overall exhibition design.
iF Gold Statement
Although the initial interaction is static, the branding for this design event quickly leads the visitor into a highly dynamic experience. The graphics respond to user actions, conveying a message that effective design is a two-way street, a ‘tide’ that comes in and goes out. Playful and confident, yet subtle and thought-provoking, this is the ideal showcase for the best of Japanese design.
