The image book series “Discover Steel” throws light on ThyssenKrupp Steel international locations and is intended to be thought provoking and surprising. Under the title “Encounters”, Eastern and Western teams of photographers and authors visited Chinese people connected with steel as a working material. Each team looked at the “other” culture. The dual subject “Encounters” is interpreted by the form, system of colours and choice of paper; German (silver-grey) and Chinese (red) characters are superimposed on semi-transparent paper. Shiny silver embossing effects reproduce the aesthetic impression of steel.
