With their new headquarters in Rümlang near Zurich, the Dormakaba Group wanted to create an innovative and vibrant place to work which had to fulfil three objectives in particular: repurposing, a sparing use of resources, and value retention. Conveniently, they already owned the perfect building for it, a former factory whose long sight lines, high ceilings and abundant supply of natural light would give the new base an extraordinary quality of its own.
