Drowning Detection Goggle

Swimming Goggles

Designed for children, the Drowning Detection Goggles have a built-in 'g-sensor' for drowning detection, capable of emitting an alarm at the first sign of emergency and have parents or others perform immediate rescue. Drowning has long been one of the main reasons for children’s accidental death. As opposed to what we see in movies, people do not wave their hands and yell for help when drowning. Therefore, even a trained rescuer cannot easily spot a drowning kid before the child has lost consciousness or is floating on the water. The goggles enable instant rescue of a drowning child, thus helping to avoid permanent injury or death by hypoxia.

JURY STATEMENT

A well designed innovation with high consumer appeal, which could activate timely rescue effort.

WINNER STATEMENT

Saving lives is my goal with the Drowning Detection Goggles. The idea behind this project has been acknowledged by the jurors, which has encouraged me to continually devote myself to this project.
