E-Fountain

A revolutionary parking system for electric cars

As electric cars become more commonplace, perhaps the biggest concern after pulling out of the driveway is recharging. Unfortunately, away from home and on the road, there is no time or place to recharge the car for 30 minutes or more. E-Fountain, serving as a midway point, or rest stop, is an automated parking system which recharges electric vehicles. Made from solar panels, the parking area itself steadily absorbs sunlight and charges the batteries under the panels. When a car is parked, the auto parking system starts to charge the car's battery while parked. The driver can opt to either simply park the car or recharge it by connecting a cable much like a self-service gas pump hose for later billing. Just as a long-distance traveller might welcome a fountain or a spring, an electric car driver will appreciate the combined park-and-charge E-fountains set up regularly along the road.
