The Early Bird Bleed Monitoring System detects bleeds during endovascular procedures the moment they happen, helping to preserve outcomes and significantly reduce the severity of bleeding complications. While avoiding the need for open surgery, endovascular procedures are not without risk. A sheath needs to be inserted into a blood vessel. Bleeding complications can arise if the needle accidentally pierces the vessel. As there are no outward symptoms of the puncture, the patient can bleed undetected until a significant amount of blood is lost. Until now, there has been no way to specifically monitor, in real time, access site bleeding complications.
