EBARA HATAKEYAMA MUSEUM OF ART

MUSEUM OF ART

An art museum that enhances cultural and intellectual experience through Japan’s singular art of tea and connects it to the future. This was a plan for renovation and expansion of the facility, which was established in 1964 by Ebara Corporation founder Issei Hatakeyama (also known as Sokuo). Inheriting Sokuo’s spirit of sharing his tea ceremony-centered artwork collections with as many people as possible, the renovation has expanded the museum to offer new experiences and interactions with beauty and to enhance the unique existing main building created by Sokuo, which incorporates a tea room. Together with its cultural heritage teahouses
