Ecoflex / Ecovio
Biodegradable plastic
Ecoflex® is a fully biodegradable plastic: Under controlled composting conditions, the synthetic polymer is biodegraded by natural enzymes. Ecoflex is waterproof, flexible, printable, weldable and has good tensile strength. Thus Ecoflex-films are ideally suited for packaging applications. It can be combined with renewable raw materials like polylactic acid, and depending on the mixing ratio the results are stiffer or softer formulations. These can be transformed into coffee cups or sushi boxes. One example for such a special compound is the translucent Ecovio®. This material is even suited for injection moulding and deep-drawing applications.
