Ecological Band-Aid
Environmental protection
The river which forms the focus of this conceptual design project flows from the forest to the city. At different points from the upper to the middle reaches of the river, different "eco patches" have been designed to promote maximum natural restoration. The aim is to rehabilitate the river's hydrology, topography and ecology, thereby increasing the level of flood storage and river drainage and protecting the city from inundation.
“Ecological Band-Aid” is an attempt to solve a major ecological dilemma in relation to rivers – embankment vs. fostering biological habitat – with a curious, experimental, natural design concept. Although it requires further testing and development, it stands out with its visionary character in these times of environmental crises .
