Education for a Shared Society

Educational Program

The program utilizes informal peace education approaches, focusing on experiential education, Jewish-Arab encounters, dialogue, culture, arts, and joint activity. The program aims to reach students throughout the education lifecycle, starting in elementary school and continuing through high school. The need for educational intervention in Israel is rooted in the deep division between the Jewish majority and the Arab minority. Young people are the most vulnerable to powerful influences and subject to incitement. Givat Haviva's educational program aims to transform conflict trends among young people into a shared, democratic future for Israel.

JURY STATEMENT

Using the power of education, the project enables future peaceful co-existence by bringing Jewish and Arab kids and youth together to learn, grow and build empathy. In times of increased violence and social injustice in the Middle East, it is vital to empower the next generation.

WINNER STATEMENT

Givat Haviva is incredibly grateful for the iF Social Impact Prize. This grant will allow us to grow our Education for a Shared Society program during this critical time for Arab-Jewish relations in Israel. We are so thankful to the iF team for recognizing our work and investing in a peaceful future.
