Medical Skill Trainers

Laerdal Medical AS

Emergency Care Learning Lab is a portable kit to support all practical skill training in the WHO Basic Emergency Care (BEC) course. It targets both healthcare students and professionals in low-resource settings. Injuries alone killed 4.4 million people around the world in 2019, and constitute 8% of all deaths. In low- and middle-income countries more than half of deaths could be prevented by effective emergency care, yet many frontline workers lack training. By addressing shortages in training equipment, affordability and accessibility, the solution enables rapid scaling of hands-on learning and instructor-led demonstrations.
