Accessible board game

FÜHLEN is an inclusive board game designed for joint play by blind, visually impaired, and sighted players. It integrates tactile, auditory, and visual components to deliver an accessible gaming experience. With Braille, large print, and NFC audio cards, players can fully engage as they solve tasks and navigate a tactile board. The game fosters equal participation and social inclusion, demonstrating that inclusive design can be both functional and enjoyable.

JURY STATEMENT

This concept can serve as a benchmark for inclusive design in the board games industry. It provides a sophisticated tabletop experience for the visually impaired without compromising entertainment value.

WINNER STATEMENT

Winning the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD for FÜHLEN is an incredible honor and a meaningful recognition of the importance of inclusive and accessible design. It motivates me to continue creating projects that promote participation and accessibility for everyone.
