Envirovex
Bio-based wastewater treatment solution
Antibiotic pollution is a frequently overlooked key driver of antimicrobial resistance, a global health threat that costs 1.5 billion euros annually. 200,000 tons of antibiotics are consumed every year by humans and livestock, with up to 119,000 tons entering the environment, causing ecotoxicity, superbug proliferation and biodiversity loss. Current solutions degrade 30-80% of antibiotics over several days and require costly infrastructure changes. Envirovex utilizes mirror-image enzymes to achieve up to 97% antibiotic degradation within 24 hours in optimal conditions, setting a new industry standard for speed, efficiency, and sustainability.
This innovative solution addresses one of the world's most pressing public health challenges and sets a new benchmark for sustainability and efficiency. A well-deserved winner!
