Hamburg Metropolitan Region is planning a network of cycle superhighways that will enable users to reach their destination comfortably, safely, quickly and without interruption over the shortest possible distances. The cycling infrastructure for these so-called "Cycle Routes Plus" was included in the planning at an early stage. Elements such as sign posts, shelters and handhold elements are easy to recognize and will increase comfort and acceptance as well as contribute to easy orientation. A memorable beveled top edge, reminiscent of a sail or a flag, characterizes the appearance of all elements and gives the Cycle Routes Plus their own DNA.
