Ericsson

Ericsson Remote Reality Racing (E3R) is the first-of-its-kind mixed reality racing game. It uses the power of 5G to let gamers take control of actual remote-controlled cars to race on physical tracks around the world—all from the comfort of their homes. E3R’s UI was built from scratch and leveraged the Ericsson Design System—a system meant for enterprise software but adapted here for game design. This allowed development to be completed at a record-breaking speed of three months. The final UI is an intriguing yet intuitive mix of real-world camera feeds and graphical indicators that appeals to both casual gamers and racing game enthusiasts.
